He's always up for a game of fetch, tug-of-war, or chasing his flirt pole, and he takes his stuffed animal collection very seriously. But when playtime is over, he's equally happy sunbathing in the yard, chewing on a favorite toy, or curling up next to his humans for some quality snuggle time. He's a moderate-energy guy who loves a nice walk on a sunny day but is perfectly content to binge-watch Netflix with you when the weather doesn't cooperate.One of Ace's most endearing qualities? He takes his job as Chief Family Supervisor VERY seriously. On walks, he likes to make sure everyone in his group is accounted for. No human left behind! He's also quite the conversationalist and has been known to greet people with his signature howl. Whether he's excited, happy, or simply has something important to announce, Ace isn't afraid to use his voice. He's basically a furry little town crier that loves to yap with the girls!Ace enjoys canine companionship and tends to appreciate calmer, more easygoing dogs. With proper introductions he can make wonderful dog friends. He also enjoys meeting new people once he's had a chance to get comfortable. Ace can be vocal with unfamiliar humans and can be reactive toward unfamiliar dogs when introductions are rushed, so he appreciates someone who understands that good friendships don't always happen in the first five seconds!And don't let that adorable face fool you. There's a very smart cookie behind those puppy-dog eyes! Ace is house-trained, does great sleeping in his crate overnight, and is working hard on his daytime crate training. He's eager to learn, loves having a job to do, and is highly motivated by treats. Give this boy a little structure, some clear expectations, and a pocketful of snacks, and he'll happily show off his potential!Now, Ace does have a few requests for his forever home. He's a sensitive soul underneath all that silliness, and sudden noises, unpredictable movements, and too much commotion can make him uneasy. His dream home would be a quieter, adult-only household where life is a little more predictable and his humans understand the value of patience, routine, and clear boundaries. He's also an enthusiastic alert barker, so a home with fewer sights, sounds, and traffic would help him relax.Ace loves his people deeply, and being separated from them can be tough. He's making progress with his separation anxiety in his foster home, but he'd thrive with someone who's home more often than not and willing to continue helping him build confidence and independence. A single-family home, or another living situation where his occasional vocal performances won't upset the neighbors, would be ideal.Here's the thing about Ace: he doesn't need a perfect home or a perfect human.
