Meet Angel – Gentle Lap Cat, Surrogate Mom, and Professional Purr Machine!  Angel is a beautiful 6-year-old girl whose name couldn't suit her better. She is in the prime of her life. What you see is what you get: a calm, gentle, sweet-natured cat whose personality is fully developed. For years, Angel lived in a community cat colony where she quickly became everyone's favorite. While many of the cats kept their distance, Angel would run up to greet her caregivers, rubbing against their legs and chatting away for attention. She always welcomed gentle pets and showed us what a loving cat she truly was. When Angel recently suffered an injury, we brought her indoors so she could receive veterinary care and recover safely. She was a perfect patient at the vet—cooperative, gentle, and trusting. Now fully healed, Angel is ready to find the forever home she has always deserved. One of the things that makes Angel so special is her nurturing heart. While living in the colony, two orphaned kittens appeared and Angel immediately took them under her wing. Even though she had been spayed and they weren't her own, she lovingly cared for them as if they were. When the kittens were rescued and placed into homes, it was heartbreaking to watch Angel search and cry for them. She had truly become their surrogate mother. Now it's Angel's turn to be cared for. Like many cats, Angel is a little cautious when meeting new people. But once she realizes you're kind and trustworthy, she blossoms into an affectionate companion. She rewards gentle attention with loud purrs, slow blinks (kitty kisses), biscuits and cozy lap cuddles. She strikes that perfect balance between loving and independent—happy to spend time with you, but never demanding. She's also discovering the joys and safety of indoor life and is learning how to play with toys. Her favorite is a tinsel wand, and when she gets excited, she does the cutest little "march in place," lifting her front paws one at a time and making air biscuits. Angel is currently being fostered with three resident cats. She has approached them with her trademark gentle demeanor, but they have repeatedly made it clear she isn't part of their club. Rather than argue, Angel quietly backs away. Because of her easygoing nature, she would likely enjoy a friendly, even-tempered feline companion, but she would also be perfectly happy as your one and only. After spending years outdoors, Angel is finally experiencing the comfort of a safe, clean, loving home—and she clearly likes it. We would love to find her a family who will never again leave her wondering where she belongs. Come meet Angel! Angel will be attending her first adoption event on  Saturday, June 20, from 1:00–4:00 PM at Petco near Trader Joe's in The Woodlands.  It may be a little stressful for her, but she'd love the chance to meet her future family.
