Description

Location: Swarthmore, PA Ladybug Ladybug is a senior girl, estimated to be at least 8 years old, though we suspect she may be older. This sweet, gentle soul is looking for a quiet, loving home where she can spend her golden years feeling safe, secure, and cherished. Ladybug has made incredible progress in foster care. When she first arrived, her crate was her entire world. If anything startled her, she would immediately retreat to the safety of her little sanctuary. Today, she spends most of her day out of her crate, happily lounging around the house, relaxing on the deck, or quietly exploring the yard. Loud or unexpected noises can still send her back to her safe space, but she's much more easily reassured now and can usually be coaxed back out with a little patience and encouragement. She is an independent girl who truly enjoys doing her own thing. Ladybug isn't the type of dog who needs constant attention or wants to be glued to your side all day. Instead, she's perfectly content to relax nearby and simply enjoy your company. When she wants affection, a snack, or needs something, she'll come find you. It's one of the many things that makes her so endearing—she's learned that it's okay to ask for what she needs. Mealtime can still be a bit of a challenge, as Ladybug is a very picky eater. One of the sweetest things we've discovered is how much confidence she gains from watching her foster brother. She looks to him for reassurance and often follows his lead, deciding it's safe to eat once he starts. It's a wonderful reminder that sometimes we all just need a friend to show us the way. Ladybug is house-trained and crate-trained and enjoys having access to a securely fenced yard where she can come and go at her own pace. She has absolutely no interest in long walks or an active lifestyle. Her perfect day consists of lounging in the sunshine, wandering around the yard, taking long naps, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. While Ladybug has become much more comfortable around men than when she first entered foster care, she would still do best with a female adopter. She is looking for a quiet, low-key home without children where life is predictable and peaceful. She thrives in calm environments and does best with someone who understands that trust is earned through patience, kindness, and consistency. Ladybug also does well with other dogs, provided they share her laid-back outlook on life. She enjoys calm canine companionship but would not be happy living with dogs that are pushy, overbearing, overly energetic, or constantly in her face. Respectful, easygoing dogs help her feel comfortable and confident. Ladybug's journey has been one of learning that the world can be a safe place. Every day she becomes a little more confident, a little more comfortable, and a little more willing to trust. She may never be the dog who greets strangers with exuberant tail wags or demands to be the center of attention, but she has so much love to give in her own quiet way. She isn't looking for excitement or adventure. She's looking for someone who will love her exactly as she is, celebrate the little victories, and give her the peaceful retirement she deserves. In return, you'll gain a gentle, loyal companion who asks for very little—just patience, understanding, and a safe place to finally call home.   Please contact Tricci2770@aol.com.   Complete an Application https://www.acdra.org/adoption-application
