Diesel is a little shy at first but does warm quickly, he just needs to know you are ok. He loves to play so he must go to a home with another young, small dog that he can play with. Diesel is very loving once he deems you ok in his book and will give you as many kisses as you can handle. He has extra cartilage in his one ear but that just makes him all the cuter. Diesel is still fitting into his foster home so as we know more we’ll update his bio but this is what we want for him. A fenced in yard Another young small dog for him to play with Someone that is home more than not, this is a plus Because dachshunds are known barker we can not adopt to anyone in an apartment, high rise or condo If you think you can give Diesel the home he deserves then please fill out an application. He has been in two homes in his short life we want this to be his last home so we are going to be very picky where he goes.     ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.  We cannot adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend.  We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest.  We just can't get them from one coast to the other.  Please look for dogs on your coast.
