Meet Pearl Pearl is a 1–2-year-old Miniature Poodle with the gentlest soul and a heart as sweet as they come. Soft, kind, and incredibly loving, this little girl has already overcome more than most dogs ever should.For quite some time, Pearl was spotted running loose and surviving on her own. Frightened and difficult to approach, she eventually had to be humanely trapped. But the moment she realized she was safe, everything changed. Pearl melted into the laps of shelter staff, soaking up affection and seeming almost relieved that she no longer had to fend for herself. It was as if she knew her hard days were finally behind her.When Pearl arrived, her coat was matted and tangled with foxtails and burrs. Thanks to some much-needed grooming and TLC, she’s feeling so much better and is ready to start her next chapter.Pearl is shy and can be easily startled, so she will need a patient and understanding adopter willing to give her time to build trust and settle into her new life. Once she feels secure, her sweet and affectionate nature shines through. She also enjoys the company of other dogs and would make a lovely companion for a calm and caring home.Because of her history, Pearl’s transition into a new home must be handled thoughtfully. She will need a secure environment and an adopter who is diligent about keeping her safely contained. If Pearl were to become frightened and get loose before trust is established, she would be extremely difficult to catch.
