“Mabel is a 5-year-old, spayed dog who has been with our family since she was a puppy. She weighs approximately 13 pounds and is up to date on her rabies vaccination, with her most recent vaccination records available from 2024. Mabel is an independent little dog with a strong personality. She thrives with people who understand canine body language and can provide clear boundaries and consistency. Because of her history, she would be best suited for an adult-only home or a home with experienced dog owners who can help her feel secure and respected. Over the past five years, Mabel has had several incidents where she attempted to bite, typically involving food-related situations or when resisting handling. For this reason, it is important that any potential adopter understands her behavioral needs and is willing to manage them appropriately. Despite these challenges, Mabel has been a beloved member of our family, and our goal is to find her a safe, understanding home where she can succeed. We are committed to being transparent about her history and helping connect her with the right adopter.
