This cat is part of our shelter outreach program where we take pets from overcrowded shelters in hopes of finding them a forever home here! We generally do not have much background info on them. They are all up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped.  FIV/Felv negative. Update: 2/20/26 10 months. That’s how long Maro has been waiting. And honestly? He’s a staff favorite. (What can we say… our “tougher” kitties who’ve been here a while tend to steal our hearts.) Maro is a very sweet, fun-loving guy who truly enjoys being around people. When he’s happy, he purrs up a storm — and yes, he can be a little chatty too. Once you earn his trust (and he does pick his favorites), he’ll happily sit on your lap and soak up the attention. Maro does things on his terms, and we respect that about him. He’s a big-time player and loves enrichment. Because he can get overstimulated and sometimes play rough, he needs a cat-savvy home that understands feline behavior and can provide structure and guidance. The good news? He responds well to correction and routine. He would do best as the only pet, where he can have the space and attention he deserves. We truly believe Maro will continue to blossom in a home that understands him and gives him a real chance. Shelter life — even in his suite — is not the same as having a family. Ten months is far too long for a boy like this. Could you be the one who finally says, “He’s mine”?      Meet Maro – the big-eyed beauty with a heart as sweet as his face! Maro is a 4-year-old charmer who was recently pulled from the county shelter and is now ready for a fresh start. He’s a little shy at first, but give him some time and patience, and you’ll see his playful, affectionate side shine through. ✨ This handsome guy loves being brushed once he’s comfortable and is always up for some gentle playtime.
