Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Jack is a lovable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a gentle heart and an easy-going personality. He is the kind of dog who is simply happy to be wherever his people are, whether that’s enjoying a leisurely walk, spending time outside, playing with his toys, or relaxing with a cozy nap. Jack gets along wonderfully with everyone he meets, including visitors and other dog-friendly dogs. He enjoys playing with both his foster and resident canine companions, but he isn’t overly demanding and is just as content taking life at a slower pace. Having previously lived with his Cavalier sister, Jack is accustomed to sharing his home with other dogs and would likely enjoy a canine companion. However, his laid-back nature would also allow him to thrive as an only dog. Like many Cavaliers, Jack appreciates the finer things in life—especially a good nap! His favorite sleeping spot is draped across the back of the couch, where he can keep an eye on the household while staying perfectly comfortable. At 7½ years old, Jack has mastered the art of balancing playtime and relaxation. He still enjoys toys and play sessions, but he’s equally happy to curl up and recharge afterward. When Jack first arrived at Underdog, he was carrying a few extra pounds. Thanks to a healthier lifestyle, he has already lost several pounds and is feeling more energetic and playful every day. He still has a little way to go before reaching his ideal weight, but he’s enjoying the journey and the extra pep in his step that comes with it. Jack can occasionally seem a little confused, but he takes life’s little mysteries in stride with his calm and cheerful attitude. He is a sweet, uncomplicated companion who loves being part of the family and asks for very little in return. If you’re looking for a friendly, low-key companion who enjoys walks, naps, toys, and spending time with his people, Jack may be the perfect addition to your home. His gentle temperament would make him a wonderful match for many families, including seniors or retirees looking for a loyal and loving best friend.   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
