Meet Patches! Patches is a sweet, happy-go-lucky young girl who is ready to find the family she has been waiting for. At just about a year old (estimated DOB 4/1/25), she has the perfect combination of kitten energy and a loving personality. This playful girl loves chasing balls, spring toys, and just about anything she can bat across the room. If it moves, there's a good chance Patches wants to investigate it! She's still deciding what she thinks about wand toys, but she's always willing to try something new. When she's not busy playing, she enjoys relaxing on a cat tree and taking in the sights around her. Patches' journey began when she appeared at a feeding station for a feral cat colony. The gentleman caring for the colony immediately realized she didn't belong outside. Unlike the other cats, Patches walked right up to him asking for attention and affection. No microchip was found, and despite efforts to locate an owner, no one came forward to claim her. Wanting to give her a better life, he had Patches spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for FeLV and FIV (both negative). He then partnered with Cat Matchers and welcomed her into his home as a foster. Unfortunately, a change in his personal circumstances meant he could no longer keep fostering her, even though he cared deeply about her future. Today, Patches is temporarily living in a condo at Petco while she waits for either a foster home or, even better, a forever home of her own. While she makes the best of her situation, what she really wants is a soft bed, toys to chase, and a family to love. Patches is a laid-back, easygoing girl who enjoys attention and affection. She appears open to having a feline friend with proper introductions, though she would likely be just as happy soaking up all the attention herself. Her experience with dogs is unknown. After being overlooked once through no fault of her own, Patches deserves a chance to know what it feels like to truly belong.
