Specter is a 4 year old neutered male who needs a feline friend. Here’s what his foster volunteer says about him after two weeks in foster care:   General personality:  Specter is the sweetest cat. You will have to earn his trust by being around him and showing him that you are safe and good. He loves cats and they really bring his personality out even more.    Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes, but on his own terms. It is very clear when he wants you to pet him, he will come out and bury into you.  If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? His head Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? No (but don’t pet him randomly, only when he wants) Does the cat come on your lap? No but he loves to lay right next to me  Does the cat like to be held? No  Does the cat sleep in your bed? Yes when it’s just me  Does the cat seek your attention? Yes!  Does the cat like to play? Yes! Once he opens up and trusts you  What are the cat's favorite games and toys? He likes the rope ones, but he most loves playing with my cat.  How vocal is the cat? Not that vocal  What kinds of sounds does the cat make? Meows sometimes at night  Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Yes If no, please explain. Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes If no, please explain. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? I leave out dry food for him 24/7, he just started eating, before he was too scared. he is not that food obsessed, but I leave him both dry and wet and he nibbles on both throughout the day Is the cat picky about food? Yes  What is the cat's favorite treat? Meow mix dry food  What medication is the cat on, and how is it administered? Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No never  Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? No  Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? He gives love bites (they don’t hurt at all) Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? He is very scared of new people. You will have to earn his trust. He started trusting me about a week in, and since then he has grown more and more trusting every day. He loves my attention now and follows me around everywhere. Do not push yourself on him before he is ready, he will probably not do well with that.   If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? He LOVES my cats, and my cat Chulo really brought him out of his shell. One way I earned his trust was by petting and feeding my cat in front of him. Make sure your cat is respectful of him, I think an overreactive/over playful cat will be too much. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? He loves to be brushed, and he has 7 toes on his front paws, and he has no tail. Hes the cutest cat ever, and he loves to bury himself into your hand once he is comfortable.  In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? He seriously is the perfect cat, and it’s amazing seeing how loving he is even after everything he has been through. He will be the perfect companion and he just needs a home that will be quiet and show him love every day and play with him. He needs to have another cat with him too.
