Personality:Veni is a stunning longhaired gentleman with a striking black and white coat and the kind of face that makes people stop scrolling. He is friendly and affectionate on his own terms — he enjoys your company, appreciates a good chin scratch, and will let you know clearly when he’s had enough. He is not rude about it. He just has standards.He does have preferences about, well, most things — his food, his routine, his people. Once you learn his schedule, he is an excellent and low-drama companion. He just expects you to keep up.Good With:Veni has lived most of his life as an only pet and would like to keep it that way. He will largely ignore a calm dog who leaves him alone, though he is not above a corrective swat if they push their luck. Other cats are a harder no. He is a gentleman who prefers to be the only gentleman in the house.He has always lived with women and seems most comfortable in that kind of household. A quiet home where he is the undisputed center of attention is exactly what he is looking for.Background:Veni came to us when his elderly owner moved into assisted living. He has since settled beautifully into a calm foster home where he enjoys supervised access to a sunny porch — something he loves deeply — and a consistent routine that suits him well. He is a healthy, active senior who has rediscovered his appetite and his confidence. FIV positive, though you would not know it; he has never had any issues related to it and lives like any other cat.Special Notes:Veni would thrive with someone who has had cats before and understands that a cat with opinions is not a difficult cat — he is just an honest one. He does best with wet food a couple of times a day alongside dry food available freely.
