Meet Rocky, a scruffy, soulful little Poodle mix with the sweetest eyes and an even sweeter heart. This lovable guy is happiest when he’s close to his people, whether he’s following you from room to room, curling up nearby, or simply soaking up love and attention. Rocky is affectionate, goofy, and full of quiet charm once he feels safe and secure.  Rocky gets along well with other dogs and even cats, and he’s both housetrained and crate trained. He prefers to eat and drink unbothered by other dogs though.  While he can settle in a crate, he’ll let you know he’d much rather be beside his family. This boy truly bonds deeply with his people and just wants to feel included and loved. He’s friendly with new people, but he can become protective of the people he loves most, which simply means he takes his job as a loyal companion seriously. Because of this, Rocky would do best with older, considerate children who understand how to respect a dog’s space and boundaries. Rocky recently had to be shaved down after not receiving the grooming care he needed from his previous owner. Even with his short haircut, his adorable scruffy face and gentle expression still shine through. As his soft coat grows back in with regular grooming and proper care, he’s going to be absolutely gorgeous. His future family should be prepared to keep up with regular grooming appointments to help him stay comfortable and healthy. This sweet boy also has somewhat sensitive, itchy skin, and an oatmeal shampoo has been recommended to help keep him comfortable. Poor guy has a bit of eczema.  He has a moderate energy level, enjoys companionship more than chaos, and would love a calm, loving home where he never has to feel abandoned again. Rocky’s perfect match is someone looking for a loyal best friend - the kind of dog who forms a deep bond, stays by your side, and loves with his whole heart. In return, he’s hoping for patience, reassurance, cozy places to nap, and a family who will cherish him forever. Rocky is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm.  Rocky has been neutered and has a microchip. His adoption donation is $500.  Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animals have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
