Description

Meet Prince! Prince is a 1‑year‑old orange tabby with a royal agenda and a personality as bold as his crown‑colored coat. He came to us after being found outside and briefly cared for by someone who, unfortunately, couldn’t keep him—but they did give us the inside scoop: this boy plays like it’s his full‑time job. Zooming, pouncing, chasing, exploring… Prince treats every day like a royal adventure.Prince is very clear about one thing—cuddles are beneath him. Being picked up is not part of his royal protocol, and he prefers to keep his paws firmly on the ground. However, once he knows you and decides you’re worthy of his trust, he’s been doing better with handling and pick‑ups. He’ll let his inner softie peek through… on his terms, of course.Prince is looking for a home with kids over 8, where his boundaries will be respected and his kingdom kept peaceful. He’s been polite with other cats, so a feline companion is perfectly acceptable in his realm. When meeting dogs, Prince starts off curious, but once a dog gets noisy or overly excited, he can become scared and hiss. A calm, easygoing dog who respects his space would be the best match for this royal gentleman.Prince also has a few charming quirks: he loves drinking from the sink—running water is apparently the beverage of choice for nobility. And due to being prone to urinary crystals, he’ll need to stay on Hill’s C/D urinary food for life to keep him healthy and comfortable. If you’re ready to serve a playful, independent orange monarch with a big personality and even bigger zoomies, Prince is ready to take the throne.Prince's adoption fee is $50, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet!
