Description

Stanley can't wait to be your new best friend! Stanley is estimated to be around 5 years old and is a lovable and charming boy. He loves everyone he meets and is an A+ cuddlebuddy. He would make a wonderful companion for someone who wants an easygoing pup who is past the puppy phase, but still enjoys his walks and socializing. Stanley weighs about 12lbs. Stanley was found as a stray in a rural part of Yolo County and brought to our local animal shelter. He came in pretty rough shape with irritated skin and missing hair. With some TLC, his skin and hair are starting to look great, and he is feeling like a whole new dog! Stanley is an irresistibly sweet little man who loves to make friends and go on adventures around town. He is big on cuddles and is happiest when he can be in someone's lap getting showed with attention. He loves car rides and is happy to tag along for errands around town. Stanley is a pretty mellow guy and would be a great little buddy for a retired person or couple, or anyone who appreciates a couch potato. Stanley seems to know his basic manners and is a very well-behaved little guy. Stanley did great playing with other dogs at the shelter, and has also been doing well being the only dog in his foster home. We haven't seen him around cats, but we suspect he could do well living with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Stanley seems like he could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Stanley is housetrained. He has been doing well being left alone for short periods, being left in the foster's bedroom. He has been doing well living in an apartment. Stanley's skin is still healing, but at this time, he doesn't need any special care. To help with his skin health, we have been feeding him a salmon-based diet and keeping him up-to-date with flea preventatives. Stanley doesn't seem to shed, but we can't guarantee he is allergy-friendly. Stanley is such an amazing little pup! If he sounds like the buddy you need in your life, submit an application today!   Stanley's adoption fee is $350.   Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/  Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org.
