Description

Buzz is a 3-year-old, 25-lb purebred rat terrier looking for a quiet home where he can relax and thrive. He's an affectionate, playful guy who loves fetch, frisbees, walks, chew toys, and sneaking the occasional snack. Buzz is house-trained, crate-trained, walks nicely on leash, and gets along well with cats. Buzz can be wary of strangers and is very protective of his home and family. The busy activity and frequent visitors at his current home have proven overwhelming for him, so his family believes he would be happiest in a calm, stable home with a predictable routine and fewer visitors coming and going. Buzz would do best in an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy children. He may be cautious when meeting new people and appreciates a little time and space to get comfortable. Once he has the opportunity to settle in, his sweet, loyal personality begins to shine through (and a few tasty treats can certainly help speed up the process)! Buzz has lived with other dogs and attended dog-friendly events. He may do well with a calm, easygoing female dog but would likely prefer not to share his home with another assertive male. He enjoys canine companionship when the match is right and would benefit from thoughtful introductions. With the people he trusts, Buzz is affectionate, fun-loving, and devoted. Whether he's chasing a frisbee, joining you for a walk, or curling up at the end of the day, he's happiest being close to his favorite people.
