Description
Calypso is a Husky with a big heart who was initially having a hard time navigating the world when she came to the ASPCA. After a change of scenery in the mountains, she really started to come into her own and didn’t need to go through our full program. She’s now ready to find her person, a cozy place to land and someone who is up for a little fun along the way. Calypso is very social with people and tends to warm up quickly, especially if you have treats! She’s food motivated and enjoys learning, which helps her stay connected on walks and pick up new routines. She’s comfortable with handling and has built great skills like settling in a crate, engaging with enrichment and riding in the car for outings. Calypso is an energetic pup who gets excited about getting out and doing things. At the start of an activity, she may have a quick burst of extra energy before settling in and getting into a nice rhythm. On leash, she may pull when she’s excited, but she’s happy to check in and adjust when a tasty treat is part of the picture. Calypso enjoys most other dogs and is interested in play, though her playstyle can be a bit bold. She likes to play rough and can be vocal, which not every dog appreciates. She may do best with dog friends who enjoy that kind of play and with slower, more structured introductions like going for walks together. Calypso is a playful, expressive dog who also knows how to relax and settle. If you’re looking for a social companion who’s ready to keep learning and have a good time with you, she could be a great match!
