Adoption Fee: $450.00 (available 6/11) Ernie is a 3-month-old Chihuahua/Aussie mix with a heart as big as his curiosity. This sweet boy has quickly shown just how special he is—especially when it comes to his love for other dogs. Ernie is absolutely obsessed with his foster family's senior dog. He’ll snuggle up as close as he can, quietly soaking in her presence while being incredibly respectful of her space. He even became the first of his brothers to enjoy an actual walk—simply because he wanted to follow his “adopted” big sister. Because of this, Ernie would do best in a home with another dog… even a calm, no-nonsense older pup would be perfect for him. He’s doing great with potty training and is already barking at the door when he needs to go out—such a smart boy! Ernie is also the most curious and brave of his siblings, though he does rely on companionship and may take separation from his brothers the hardest at first. With patience, love, and a furry friend by his side, Ernie is going to grow into an incredible companion. He truly has the sweetest heart and so much love to give. New foster dogs need time to feel safe. They may be skittish or fearful, so always stay with them outside—even in fenced yards. Ensure collars and leashes fit securely to prevent escapes. Your gentle presence and protection help them feel loved and secure. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 13 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary.  The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heartworm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, and vaccination record.
