Kestrel

Description

Kestrel arrived at our shelter on 6/5/2026 as a transfer from one of our rescue friends. He was in a small impound and needed a place to go. He's around 6 months old and appears to be a shepherd mix of some type. He's a really nice boy who currently weighs around 35 pounds and does have a little growing left to do. He will be vet checked and neutered on June 18th and his fee is $150. Kestrel is a loving and happy pup who will need some basic training. He's at a great age for training and should learn quickly. We do think he'd do well with other dogs and is young enough to learn to interact well with cats. He will need regular exercise as he is a young dog. He's a honey who would make a great companion! NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
