Description
LENNARD NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Lennard Best Guess for Breed: Retriever mix Best Guess for Age: 2.5 years as of June 2026 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 55 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: South Carolina shelter - Lennard needs a foster or adopter to make his way to the DC area Special adoption considerations: Lennard is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Lennard is Looking For: This handsome 2-year-old retriever is ready to bring sunshine wherever he goes. With his beautiful golden-tan coat, bright smile, and cheerful personality, Lennard is the kind of dog who makes every day a little better. Lennard approaches life with confidence and enthusiasm. He enjoys getting out and exploring the world and walks nicely on leash, making him a great companion for neighborhood strolls, park adventures, or simply spending time by your side. His happy-go-lucky attitude and friendly nature make him a joy to be around. Whether he's showing off his trademark smile or soaking up attention from his favorite people, Lennard is always ready to share his positive spirit. He's looking for a family that will appreciate his loving personality and give him plenty of opportunities to be part of the fun. What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon!
