Description
Meet Sadie This sweet Beagle girl was found running as a stray in Chester, South Carolina, and taken in by Animal Control. The good Samaritans who found her were worried she might be at risk in an overcrowded shelter, so their daughter, who works at a local veterinary office, reached out to one of our volunteers for help. Luckily, we had the perfect Beagle-loving foster home available. Sadie is now being fostered by Kristy and her husband, Evan, alongside their toddler daughter and a pack of four senior Beagles. She’s settled in well to her foster home and is getting a chance to experience the safe, comfortable life she deserves. Sadie has proven to be a gentle, laidback beagle with a heart full of love and a nose that enjoys exploring the world one sniff at a time. While she's still building her confidence, she has already shown what a wonderful companion she can be. This sweet girl loves naps, belly rubs, head scratches, and just being near her people. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but give her a few treats (she's a big fan of food!) and a little patience, and she'll quickly warm up to you. While Sadie gets along well with other dogs, she isn't particularly interested in playing and would be equally happy as an only dog or with a calm canine companion. She enjoys affection and human companionship more than anything. She has also shown little interest in cats and does not appear to have a strong prey drive. Sadie has a moderate energy level and excellent house manners. She does well in her crate, sleeps quietly through the night, and settles comfortably when her foster family leaves the house. She appears to be mostly housetrained and has had only a few accidents while adjusting to her new routine. Sadie enjoys spending time outdoors sniffing around the yard and does well on a leash, making her a great walking buddy. Sadie has been exposed to a young toddler in her foster home. While the noise and activity can make her a bit nervous, she handles it appropriately by simply moving away when she wants space. Because of her gentle and somewhat shy nature, she would likely thrive in a calmer home environment. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who enjoys the simple things in life, cozy naps, sniffy walks, tasty treats, and plenty of love. Sadie may be the perfect addition to your family. Coming to DC metro on 6/20. Apply today!
