Myrna

Description

Myrna arrived at the shelter from the city pound on 6/5/2026, when her stray hold was finished and no one had claimed her. She is a powerful tank of a pit bull type gal. Short, stocky, and muscular. She has a happy, enthusiastic disposition. We will need to get her vet checked and spayed soon and her fee is $150. Myrna appears to be 3-5 years old. We'll get a better estimate once she gets to the vet. She does need some basic obedience training and some work on leash walking. She will definitely need some good exercise. We're not yet sure how she would do with other dogs and have no way of testing with cats. We do think she'd be okay with kids over 5. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
