Description
Some dogs arrive at the shelter carrying a little baggage. Britt arrived carrying a lifetime of hardship. At just 3 years old, Britt came from a hoarding situation where he lived with far too many animals and far too little care. When he arrived, he was nearly unrecognizable—bald, pink, and terrified of the world around him.Over the last three months, Britt has slowly begun to heal. His fur is growing back, his body is recovering, and most importantly, he's learning that people can be kind.Britt finds comfort in other dogs and often looks to them for reassurance. He recently discovered toys and watching him play for the first time was enough to bring tears to our eyes. At three years old, he was finally getting to experience the puppyhood he never had. He's also learning to walk on a leash—something he had never experienced before coming to us. Every day he grows a little braver and takes another step forward.Britt doesn't need a perfect home. He needs a patient one. Someone willing to give him the time and understanding he deserves as he continues to learn what love feels like.If you open your heart to Britt, you'll get to witness something truly special: a dog discovering that he is finally safe, finally loved, and finally home.Could you be the person he's been waiting for?~~If you are interested in this animal, you can complete the questionnaire found on the available pets page of our website http://hbpr.org.
