Description
Introducing Flounder ... an adorable, happy-go-lucky boy who has been dealt a rough hand in life. Flounder found himself in an over-crowded shelter in rural Georgia where he was in danger of being euthanized. It was obvious to the shelter folks he was going to need medical attention due to a mass on his right shoulder so he was listed as rescue only and no one was stepping up for him. A volunteer with a small local rescue contacted BCAA to see if they could help and we felt he deserved a chance. After we got Flounder to the vet, his diagnosis was not so good as the lump is a fairly large mast cell tumor that due to its location has been deemed inoperable and pallative/hospice care only is recommended for him. Flounder is approximately 5 years old and weighs a little over 28lbs. He is a happy boy that has gotten along with everyone he has met. He is currently in a foster home with other dogs which while he does not do a lot of interacting with them, he does get along with everyone; his foster home also has cats and a young boy. He loves going for walks & spending time outdoors exploring as well as just hanging with the family. We would love to find him a hospice home to give him quality life for whatever time he has left which the vet has said could be anywhere from 6 months up to a couple of years.
