PREGNANT! NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 6/5/2026:  Tilly Sue - female - approx 2 years old - 7.6 pounds - Chihuahua Reason for intake:  Tilly Sue was one of eight Chihuahuas taken in by Ouachita Parish Animal Control due to an eviction.  I drove to West Monroe today.  I could not take in all eight, so I took a video of the remaining four and reached out to my friends at Texas Star Rescue and they agreed to take in the rest!  So, we loaded up all eight dogs and off we went back to Shreveport/Bossier.  TSR met us at Tractor Supply and we transferred their four and then we headed to the rescue with our four.  They are all heading to the vet the week of June 8, 2026, for everything they need!  The two pregnant girls will be getting x-rays so we can determine how many puppies and an approximate due date.  They are all scared but very sweet.  We know with time, they will all come out of their shells. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS:  Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed.  Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining.   In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason.  We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption.  In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered.  Please note…  we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption.  Please wait until the dog is available for adoption.  We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link:  https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org.  We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
