This lovely 1-year-old spayed Lab mix is a smart and eager companion who already knows several cues, including “sit,” “down,” and “shake a paw,” and she takes treats gently. She will thrive in a calm, quiet, adult-only home with an experienced dog owner who has strong breed knowledge and can provide the structure, consistency, and activity she needs. While she can be fearful and insecure at times, with patience and guidance she has great potential to build confidence and form strong bonds. She is best suited to a home committed to daily leash walks and ongoing training, including a required basic manners or private behaviour class. Due to her prey drive potential, she cannot live with small animals such as pocket pets. A securely fenced yard is required, and off-leash parks are not appropriate at this time as she continues to work on recall and bonding. Her ideal adopter will also be prepared to implement a structured food program using tools such as interactive feeders, hand feeding, and trade-up exercises to support positive behaviours.
