SATURN

Description

Saturn is a female cat who presented bright, alert, and responsive (BAR) with severe ocular disease affecting her right eye (OD). Examination revealed extensive symblepharon resulting in significant scarring, chronic discomfort, and loss of normal ocular function. Due to the severity of the condition and poor visual prognosis, enucleation (surgical removal of the affected eye) is recommended to alleviate pain and improve her long-term quality of life.This specialized surgical procedure and the associated recovery care exceed what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite her condition, Saturn remains sweet and resilient while receiving supportive care. Saturn needs a safe, compassionate placement where she can receive surgical evaluation, enucleation, and appropriate postoperative care to ensure her comfort and well-being.This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to the level of medical care required, which exceeds what we can provide in the shelter.If you are interested in helping, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov with your contact information so we can call you back.
