Description

Juju is a sweet, affectionate, and gentle one-year-old orange boy. Although he may be a little cautious when first entering a new environment, once he feels safe his loving personality quickly comes through. He absolutely loves being brushed and enjoys gentle pets. He leans into every stroke, rubs against your hand, purrs loudly, and sometimes rolls over to show his belly. He is also highly food motivated and never says no to treats or canned food. Juju has a calm, laid-back personality. He enjoys playing with toys and batting balls around on his own, but he is not a particularly high-energy cat. He is happiest spending time near his people, enjoying attention, snacks, and grooming sessions. Because Juju spent his early life outdoors, he can be sensitive to major changes and may need a little time to adjust to a new home. Once he settles in and learns that he is safe, he becomes incredibly sweet and affectionate. Juju was born outdoors and grew up in a marshland area as part of a small colony of orange cats. I first met him when he was approximately four to five months old and began feeding him regularly. From the beginning, he stood out as the friendliest and most outgoing kitten in the colony. Whenever I arrived with food, he would run over to greet me, rub against my legs, and purr for attention. As the cats matured, territorial behavior developed within the colony and Juju gradually became the one being pushed out. Later, he appeared with injuries from fighting, including a neck abscess that required veterinary treatment. At that point, I decided it was time to bring him indoors and give him a chance at a safer life. Over the past month in foster care, Juju has adapted remarkably well to indoor living. He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for his injuries. He has shown that he enjoys human companionship and has all the qualities needed to become a wonderful indoor pet. He is now looking for a permanent home where he can continue to thrive. Juju would do best in a quiet, patient home with people who respect a cat’s boundaries. Although affectionate and people-oriented, he may need some time to adjust to a new environment. A calm household with adults or respectful older teenagers would suit him well. He may enjoy living with another friendly cat but would also be happy as the only pet. A separate room for his initial adjustment period would help him settle in and build confidence. Juju is looking for an indoor-only home where he can feel safe, secure, and loved. Once comfortable, he will reward his family with plenty of affection, purrs, and companionship. Juju is afraid of plastic bags and may become startled by the sound or movement of them. His adopter should take care to avoid waving or crinkling plastic bags around him, especially while he is settling into a new home. As with many cats transitioning from outdoor to indoor life, Juju may require a short adjustment period in a new home. Juju is currently living in Newark, CA 94560 For more information & an online application go to https://www.peninsulacatworks.org/adoption/cat.php?id=2284&ts=1780779641&src=rg
