Description

Available for Pre-Adoption Only: Adopters must be prepared to commit to and finalize the adoption before meeting their new puppy. Puppies will be available for pickup on June 29th. Meet Dr. Pepper, a wonderful, happy puppy who is ready to bring a perfect blend of sweetness and fun into your life. Described by his foster as gentle, kind, and affectionate, he is the calmest of his brothers. While he loves a good, full-body wrestling match and some playful puppy nibbles with his canine siblings, he is an absolute sweet angel who knows exactly how to wind down. His absolute favorite thing in the world is finding a cozy lap to curl up in and snuggling closely with his humans.  This smart pup is curious and loves to stay busy exploring his surroundings and playing with toys, but he is a quiet boy who hardly ever barks inside the house. He is currently on a structured schedule and doing wonderfully through the night from 9 PM to 6 AM in his designated indoor space. He is also a champion passenger, remaining calm and well-behaved during car rides. Dr. Pepper is still working on his house-training and learning his basic commands, and he will need a patient family to help him practice walking nicely on a leash.  Dr. Pepper is incredibly social and could fit beautifully into just about any home, whether it has an active or a laid-back vibe. He loves kids of all ages, gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes, and is curious yet completely respectful around cats. He shows no aggression or resource guarding with his food or toys, and he has shown zero fears or sensitivities to loud noises or grooming. If you are looking for a loyal, Velcro-affectionate companion who is as friendly with strangers as he is loving with family, Dr. Pepper is ready to fill your home with joy. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. PLEASE READ:    •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.    •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.    •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments. Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation. For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.
